’Twas the night before my wedding year, when all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring — not even my computer mouse.
The guest list was drafted (well, sort of, maybe?),
And the seating chart sat there, still driving me crazy.

The ring sparkled softly in fairy light’s glow,

The dress was half-ordered, the florist not paid,

Alongside reminders for makeup and hair.
The celebrant’s booked, the caterer’s keen,
But I’ve yet to decide on my wedding theme.

The MOH’s texting: “Have you tried on the shoes?”
My fiancé’s asking, “Did you see the venue’s reviews?”
The dog’s eating ribbon, the cake quote’s insane,
And my brain’s looping “Canon in D” again.

Yet amidst all the planning and Pinterest despair,
My heart’s overflowing — my wedding year’s near!
For every long email and RSVP chase,
Comes laughter and joy that nothing can replace.

There’ll be late-night ideas and cake-tasting dreams,
And mornings spent chatting about table themes.
There’ll be moments of magic, of laughter and cheer,
Because this is the start of our wedding year.

So I raise my glass high, as fireworks ignite,
